Once upon a time

Once upon a time, in homes just like yours, working with your hands was simply part of life. Playing an instrument, sewing a garment, creating something from nothing. These were expected skills, not rare ones.

Somewhere along the way, we traded those skills for screens. And in doing so, we lost something. A whole generation of children is growing up without ever discovering what their hands are capable of, without ever knowing the particular joy of creating something that wasn't there before.

These lost disciplines develop a kind of intelligence, creativity, and confidence that our modern measures of intelligence cannot replicate.

And so the story of Reclaimed Hands Studio begins. Reclaiming these skills, one child at a time, is at the heart of it all.

Piano & Sewing Lessons

Sharing these skills with children at an age where they are still discovering the world and what they can do in it. Every lesson is intentional, foundational, and built around the whole child, not just the skill.

The hands behind the studio

I started piano lessons when I was 10 years old, 23 years ago. What began as a childhood lesson became a lifelong love, a classical and church background that shaped the way I hear and experience music. I also started sewing at 10, and have spent decades developing my skills in quilting, clothing, and accessories.

These skills opened up a whole new world for me. They opened my brain to a different kind of smart and a creative side that I believe our screen-saturated world is quietly stealing from our children. I started Reclaimed Hands Studio because I want every child to have the chance to discover that side of themselves.

I believe early experiences with music and making shape not only skill, but confidence and discipline. My goal is to provide a warm, encouraging environment where students feel safe to learn and make mistakes while building strong foundational skills and a genuine enjoyment of the craft.
